Kathleen Howard did her JD and PhD at the University of Minnesota, and is a 2008 graduate of the Clarion Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers' Workshop at UCSD. She is here at Stony Brook as a 2010-2012 American Council of Learned Societies New Faculty Fellow. She is particularly interested in the medieval and early modern roots of modern speculative fiction, and is at work on a book length project provisionally titled Kings of Infinite Space on Shakespeare and Neil Gaiman's Sandman.
