Electives in the Afternoon
We are pleased to announce the return of our elective workshops and discussions, again scheduled for afternoons throughout the Conference. We offer these optional sessions in addition to a full schedule of morning and evening Conference events. The goal is to enrich the Conference experience by increasing opportunities for:
- informal discussion with distinguished visitors,
- supplementary writing instruction in the form of mini-workshops
- free time for those who would prefer to devote some afternoons to writing or recreation.
This summer’s offerings will include mini-workshops on a range of topics, including memoir, children’s lit, poetry for fiction writers, turning novels into screenplays, and writing funny. Panels will feature agents and editors who will present their insights into the world of publishing. Restricted sessions, limited to 12 participants, will promote small-group discussion with many of our distinguished faculty and guests.
