What is WolfieONE?
We are proudly calling this initiative WolfieONE (ONE is an acronym for Our Networked Enterprise). An Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system is, at its core, a software that works best when used across an entire 'Enterprise', or organization. These software systems are designed to 'Network', or join together users, devices, systems, applications and data into one centralized, cloud-based location where all users 'go' to access information ... almost like a backbone for an organization.
We added 'Our' in front of Networked Enterprise because this system will be unique to Stony Brook. We're different than every other University, and our needs are unique to us, and us alone. We've been building the ERP system, from the ground up, to benefit Our teams. Their needs, their wants, the way they do business. So this system will truly be ours.
We're building a new and updated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software to replace several outdated systems used today. This new system will serve Stony Brook well into the future by streamlining and simplifying processes, creating efficiencies, and allowing for better, future-focused decision making.
Our teams will have better access to quality, real-time data that is more transparent and seamlessly shared across the institution. Modern and robust reporting capabilities will better support analytics, business planning, and financial management efforts. Our business processes will be more aligned, standardized and less complicated, freeing our staff from labor-intensive processes and enabling them to focus on strategic planning and support efforts.
