WINTER SESSION - 2009 Academic Calendar

Term Dates: January 6 - 23, 2009
Online Registration Last day to enroll online via SOLAR Mon. Jan 5th
Late Registration Late registration will not be permitted in the Winter term. No petitions for exceptions to Unversity policy and deadlines will be accepted for Winter Session courses. 22
Student may add to a course with a "Waitlist" option Student may Add to WL up to the day before classes begin. ( NOTE : Not all courses have waitlists. The "Class Notes" on each course will indicate if there is a waitlist option. Mon. Jan 5.
Students may be added to a course from the waitlisted courses up to "Day 1" of classes. If registered on Day 1 of classes, student will be sent a message to their SOLAR account to make payment to remain in the class. (See Note below**) Students may be registered from "wait-list". Tue. Jan. 6
Last Day to drop without Tuition Liability & "W" Recorded Day 2 of Term Wed. Jan. 7
Tuition Liability & "W" Recorded on Transcript for all students Day 3 of Term Thur. Jan. 8
Last Day to remove or add the Pass/No Credit option Day 5 of Term Tues. Jan. 13
Last Day to process a credit change for a variable credit course Day 5 of Term Tues. Jan. 13

Academic Policy for "Cancelled Class Sessions"

Any class sections(s) that are “cancelled” must be rescheduled on a “scheduled make-up date" in order to provide students with the number of hours of instruction required for the credits to be earned at the end of the Winter Session term. This requirement must be adhered to as per the State Education Department (SED).

In order to comply with SED requirements, "Make-Up" class sessions will be held at the same class time as the Tuesday-Friday class schedule.

Faculty, instructors and graduate students must be prepared to schedule make-up session(s) for any class sessions that are cancelled during the scheduled dates provided.
It is the student’s responsibility to drop themselves from a waitlisted course. If a student is registered directly from the waitlist and the student does not drop the course by January 6th, the student is responsible for tuition resulting from the registration.
No petitions for exceptions to University policy and deadlines will be accepted for Winter Session courses.
