Bio: Lynn Johnson
Vice President for Human Resource Services
As Vice President of Human Resource Services, Lynn Johnson is the Chief Human Resource Officer for State and Research Foundation employees working on the West Campus, in the Health Sciences Center, at Stony Brook Manhattan and Stony Brook Southampton and at the Research & Development Park. In this role she oversees many services essential to faculty and staff - Appointments, Benefits Recruitment, Classification and Compensation, verifications and Records and Training. She also has oversight of the Labor Relations functions for Research Foundation and State employees in those same areas. As the head of Payroll she oversees payroll services for more than 13,000 State, Research Foundation and student employees at Stony Brook University.
Lynn has been an integral member of the Stony Brook University community for more than 20 years, serving in various management positions. In these roles she was responsible for directing the development of online human resources and payroll services; she co-authored the Faculty & Staff Digest and opened a satellite Human Resource Services office on the Stony Brook Medicine campus. Additionally, when Stony Brook University and Battelle Memorial Institute became co-managers of Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), Lynn was an important member of the team responsible for transitioning approximately 3,000 BNL employees to Brookhaven Science Associates.
Before joining Stony Brook, Lynn worked for three Local Education Authorities in England. She is a graduate of Hull University in Hull, England, with a Joint Honours degree in English and Latin Literature.
