Bio: Helen Jolly
Helen Jolly received dual Bachelor's degrees in East Asian Studies with a focus on Japanese Language and Anthropology from the State University of New York at Albany in 2001. After spending a year in Japan as a student, she joined the Peace Corps where she served as an agricultural extension volunteer in Guatemala. Helen received her Master's in Anthropology from Stony Brook University in 2010, and is currently a graduate student in the Sociology Department. Her research interests include global health and the pharmaceutical industry, human rights, social movements and environmental sociology. She has been active in the Graduate Student Organization serving on various committees and as a department senator, first for the Anthropology Department and later for the Sociology department, since 2007.
