Are you interested in learning more about one of the top 100 public research universities in the U.S.? Well, in this video chat, Lauren Sangimino, an Assistant Director of Admissions at Stony Brook University, answers a wide range of frequently asked questions. She encourages prospective students to visit Stony Brook and see if they can picture themselves as college students here.
Throughout the video chat, Lauren discusses topics including requirements to get accepted, our rate of admission, majors offered, combined degree programs, Undergraduate Colleges, campus housing, financial aid and scholarship information, fun things to do on campus, and research opportunities!
Lauren explains that students who apply for the Fall 2013 semester can expect a decision between February and March, and at latest April 1st. Lauren also mentions that Stony Brook faculty have helped find the cure for lime disease, invented bar coding and scanning and sent the Red Rover into space. Undergraduates are offered many research opportunities on campus through our Undergraduate Research and Creative Activity Office.
