What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
Stony Brook may be a large campus, but that is nothing to be afraid of. There are numerous options to get involved here at Stony Brook and make friends and feel connected. I never felt lonely or lost. Stony Brook is simply the best experience I’ve had so far!

Most memorable moment on campus?
At Stony Brook University, one day there was a carnival with a bunch of fun activities to do. In particular, there was an inflatable obstacle course. We had to climb a wall, run through tubes, and slide down the final slide. My friend and I competed with each other on who would finish first. I felt so victorious!

Favorite Stony Brook tradition?
I love Roth Regatta so much! It’s a very exciting event where different clubs or organizations make boats out of cardboard and compete with each other across Roth Pond. I like how everyone gathers in one spot and they have fun and laugh together.

Favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the library. There are just tons of places where I can just sit, relax, or study. If I want any kind of atmosphere—quiet or busy—I can find it there. And at night, you can sit inside and see the sky above through the ceiling.

Most memorable moment on campus?
My first homecoming game had to be my most memorable experience on campus.  I attended a high school that had no sports and no school spirit.   Seeing the whole football stadium packed and cheering on our amazing team was extremely exciting.   It was my first ever live football game and I’ve been attending all the home games ever since.

When prospective students and their families take a tour with you, you would like them to walk away with what type of feeling or thought?
I want them to have the fullest understanding of what a wonderful institution Stony Brook University really is.  I want them to feel a spark of interest in further looking into Stony Brook as an option for themselves/their child.

Favorite Stony Brook tradition?
The Roth Regatta! It’s amazing to see what students can do with just paint, duct tape, and cardboard.  It is also thrilling to stand by and watch each group of boats take on the pond, especially when you see a boat from your building, or one of your friends in a boat.

Favorite nearby off campus spot?
Port Jefferson village is my favorite off campus spot.  When the weather is nice you could spend all day by the docks and down the streets in the vintage shops.  It is a beautiful and relaxing place that’s only a few minutes away when you take the LIRR.

Favorite spot on campus? Why?
I love to go to the Health Sciences Center, or HSC. The library is a great place to study because it is a quiet, focused environment where I can get work done. I enjoy being surrounded by some of the brightest minds in the country while studying because it really inspires me to give the work my all. Also, the food options are great—the Skyline Deli, the Cafeteria, and a Starbucks in the Hospital are all delicious.

What clubs/organizations do you belong to?
I am part of NRHH, or the National Residence Hall Honorary, the Stony Brook Premed Society Outreach committee, and am also the President of Langmuir College’s Hall Council.

Favorite place to grab a bite to eat on campus?
Roth always takes the cake. Between Wendy’s and CPK, I can get something to eat there for lunch or dinner, and in any mood. They seem to always have what I’m looking for, even when I have no clue what food I’m in the mood for.

When prospective students and their families take a tour with you, you would like them to walk away with what type of feeling or thought?
I would like them to walk away with a feeling of understanding as to what our school has to offer. academically, socially, athletically, and our level of leadership and continued devotion to community service and improving our world are all fantastic things about this school, but I want them to be able to see it for themselves and believe rather than simply being told that’s the way it is.

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to become a primary care or an urgent care physician. I want to apply my experience and knowledge to make a difference in people's lives by helping them improve their overall health. I also want to take part in a health care organization so I can provide support to local leaders in developing better health care policies.

Favorite Stony Brook tradition?
My favorite Stony Brook traditions are in the Spring semester – Strawberry Fest and Earthstock. In Strawberry Fest, I enjoy the variety of meals provided for less than 10 meal points. In Earthstock, I always enjoy learning more about new ways to be 'green' or environmentally friendly. I also like how the different booths and tables give out free samples of organic products.

Most memorable moment on campus?
My most memorable moment on campus is Asia Night 2011, held by the Asian Students Alliance. It was the first time I ever participated in a cultural show as a college student. I was filled with tons of adrenaline as I got up on stage. I was a bit nervous at first since the auditorium was packed and the tickets sold out right away, but I eventually ended up having fun in front of everyone.

My most memorable moment on campus was the Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) scavenger hunt. We had so much fun running around campus, asking random people for directions, and bonding with my WISE mentoring group. I enjoyed the adventure and the people.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
Do not be afraid to explore the different fields of study we have here because what you come into Stony Brook hoping to do, will not always be the same as what you leave Stony Brook with. There are so many new things you can learn in a University this big, and it would be a waste to not learn as much as you can.
