What clubs/organizations do you belong to?
I am on the e-board of the Marine Science Club as Treasure and am a member of the Community Service Club, Environmental Club, OSSA and love participating in Hall Council.

Favorite place to grab a bite to eat on campus?
The easiest is the Benedict food area which hosts the Charcoals, Native Spice, and the Sub shop. It’s so close to me and has become my favorite place to grab some food.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
I would tell them about the activities on campus and the great ways to be active so they can enjoy their time here. Also, I look forward to sharing my own experiences here at Stony Brook like classes and the many events I’ve attended.

Favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus is the Staller steps, especially in the spring or summer. It’s a great place to hang out between classes and catch up with friends or eat a quick bite outdoors. I also love the annual Dancing with the Stony Brook Stars that is held there!

What clubs/organizations do you belong to?
I belong to the Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance corps. This is a faculty and student runned 911 agency that responds to all emergency calls on campus and in the surrounding community. We also participate in community outreach events such as CPR certification classes. I also belong to STARS-student admissions representatives, which is a club that helps inform incoming students about Stony Brook by helping out with tours and information sessions.

When prospective students and their families take a tour with you, you would like them to walk away with what type of feeling or thought?
I would love for prospective students to walk away with enthusiastic feelings about Stony Brook and everything it has to offer. I remember when I visited the campus for the first time and how passionate I felt about attending after speaking to current students about their experiences. I want potential new students to feel this same passion for Stony Brook that I felt after touring the campus.

Favorite spot on campus? Why?
My favorite spot on campus is the library because of the valuable resources available to students and the vast area used for studying.

What clubs/organizations do you belong to?
I am very much involved in clubs on campus that help unite the Stony Brook community.
I am currently the Secretary of Hillel Student Club in which I plan events and programs. I am also an active member of the Community Service Club, Pre-Law Society, and Society for Global Awareness.

Most memorable moment on campus?
My most memorable moment on campus was the Homecoming Game. It was exciting to see students gather around the stadium and cheer for Stony Brook with so much enthusiasm. The event brought students together in which they were able to enjoy themselves and bond as a university.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
I would tell prospective students that Stony Brook is a great school! It is a university that enables a student pursuing virtually any field to become enriched in their studies as well as enjoy their time by attending social activities.

I belong to the SBU intramural handball team and Hall Council at Greeley in Roosevelt Quad. I also look forward to joining the SBU soccer club.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
I would tell prospective students that Stony Brook University is a great place for almost everybody because we offer such a wide variety of classes. I would also tell them that for the price, Stony Brook University is definitely worth considering.

Favorite Stony Brook tradition?
My favorite Stony Brook tradition would be Campus Life Time because there’s always something interesting to do and, not to mention, free food.

After I graduate from SBU I hope to…
I hope to attain my Master’s Degree and travel the world.

I belong to Essence of Praise and the Caribbean Student Organization.

What is your dream job?
I would like to own a private practice in Dentistry.

When prospective students and their families take a tour with you, you would like them to walk away with what type of feeling or thought?
I would love for them to feel the same zeal for Stony Brook as I do.  I want them to see themselves or their children attending such a prestigious and dynamic university; that will foster well rounded individuals.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
It is a wonderful school to go to as long as you stay focused and set a complementary balance between your social life and you academics.

Favorite spot on campus? Why?
My favorite spot on campus is the Student Activity Center (SAC) because there is always something exciting going on in the SAC. The SAC hosts everything from concerts and talent shows, to parties, club meetings, and special events like the strawberry festival take place in the student activity center. The SAC is a place where I can go to have fun, meet new people and get away from classes.

Most memorable moment on campus?
My most memorable moment on campus will have to be the Roth Regatta. I have never seen anything like this in my life; students were actually racing across the Roth pond with self-made boats! Not only did the regatta have boat races, but free BBQ, Icee stands, cotton candy stands, and a DJ. The energy in the regatta was unbelievable—everyone was cheering for the racers. There were a lot of funny moments in which boats could not make it across the lake due to the “laws of physics”.

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to become a pediatrician. I want to help children who suffer from various medical conditions. I believe that helping children in need is one of the most rewarding experiences you can gain in this world.

When prospective students and their families take a tour with you, you would like them to walk away with what type of feeling or thought?
I want the students and their family to walk away wanting more. I want them to have the desire to come back to stony brook and take the classes and experience all the different aspects of the school that I mentioned in the tour. I want the student to leave the tour thinking that this is the best school for them. I even want the parents to wish they had attended Stony Brook!

What clubs/organizations do you belong to?
I am currently the Vice-President of Black Womyn’s Weekend. This organization is dedicated to serving the community of Stony Brook by hosting a series of events each April. I am also an event coordinator for Rise Again Haiti, an organization devoted to help the poverty-stricken country after the calamitous earthquake.

Favorite place to grab a bite to eat on campus?
I love going to the Union Commons and grabbing a custom-made salad from the U-Pick Salad Bar. I go there throughout the day and night since it’s conveniently open until 3 AM.

Most memorable moment on campus?
My most memorable moment on campus was competing in the Mr. & Mrs. H Quad, a “Tis the Season” program from Langmuir College. Within the pageant, I was able to perform, answer interview questions, and express my pride for H Quad. I love that I was able to entertain my peers and raise money at the same time.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
Stony Brook has a lot of opportunities for whichever career path you are interested in. The students, faculty, and staff here are all welcoming and with people from different backgrounds, you’re bound to learn something new.

Favorite spot on campus?
My favorite spot on campus would be the library because it offers so many different options.  It has great places to study as well as computer centers to browse the internet any time.

What clubs/organizations do you belong to?
I am currently part of an intramural soccer team as well the Stony Brook Beat Boxers.

Favorite place to grab a bite to eat on campus?
My favorite place to eat on campus would be Jasmine because they have a nice assortment of Asian cuisine.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
I would tell prospective students that Stony Brook is a great place for all because we are very diverse and offer many wonderful opportunities.  We are ranked one of the best SUNY schools academically and our Division 1 sports teams are excelling as well.

What clubs/organizations do you belong to?
There are many different clubs to join on campus. I love the choices that are here and the ones that I have become a part of include Ammann College Hall Council, Minorities in Psychology, and University Scholars Council.

Most memorable moment on campus?
Last semester, the National Society of Collegiate Scholars hosted “Homeless Under the Stars” to raise awareness for the homeless and hungry. So, that night in Mendy Pit, we made PB & J sandwiches and cardboard houses. However, the sprinklers turned on while my friends and I were making our house! Even though we couldn't sleep in our cardboard house, we stayed up all night outside and finally slept over in my room.

Favorite Stony Brook tradition?
Strawberry Fest! I've always loved strawberries, but this event showcases different uses of the fruit. For example, last semester I was able to have strawberry pizza, strawberry icepops, and they even had strawberry funnel cake. Yum!

Favorite nearby off campus spot?
I love shopping so I enjoy going to the Smith Haven Mall whenever I can, especially since it’s a short ride away with the Stony Brook buses.

What clubs/organizations do you belong to?
I am a part of the Collegiate Science and Technology Entry Program (CSTEP) of which I am Sophomore Representative on the Advisory Board and a Mentor. I am also a member of Stony Brook Gospel Choir of which I am the Recording Secretary. Lastly I serve as Concert Chair in Essence of Praise Dance ministry.

What is your dream job?
My dream job is to become a psychologist. I am very people oriented and I would like to use my skills to help individuals. I also plan to use my bilingual skills in the future on and off the job.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
I want to tell prospective students that Stony Brook is the premier choice for an affordable and top-quality school. It is conveniently located so that they have just enough independence to grow and flourish but at the same time has the necessary transportation provided to visit home when necessary. Also it has all the resources and courses that they need to attain the degrees that they come here for as well as many club and organizations to choose from to have fun along the way.

After I graduate from SBU I hope to…
Leave a mark! I want to make a difference through my club and organizational involvement as well as a Tour Guide where I’ll educate prospective students (turned admitted and enrolled students as well). I plan on going to graduate school and furthering my education with the support of all the faculty and advisors that I meet in my undergraduate years as well.

Favorite spot on campus? Why?
My favorite spot on campus is the Student Activities Center (SAC) because there are so many activities going on there. I get to meet new people at the many great social activities, eat great food, and chill in an air-conditioned area. Furthermore, it is the center of everything so it is really easy to spot friends and meet up. I absolutely love the umbrellas and sitting spots there.

Most memorable moment on campus?
My most memorable moment on campus was the Women in Science & Engineering (WISE) scavenger hunt because we had so much fun running around campus, asking random people for directions, and bonding with my WISE mentoring group. I was enjoying the adventure and the people I was with.

Favorite Stony Brook tradition?
My favorite Stony Brook tradition is wearing Red on Fridays to show Stony Brook pride. I think it is very important to show school spirit and be proud of what university you are attending, because it just makes the 4 years so much more rewarding.

After I graduate from SBU I hope to…
After I graduate from SBU, I hope to enroll in Medical School and pursue my career goal as a pediatrics surgeon. Furthermore, I hope to get involved in my high school and Undergraduate College to help fund or participate in research.

I would love for families and students to feel the way I feel about my home away from home. I would never change Stony Brook for the world because of the great education and activities SB has to offer.

Most memorable moment on campus?
I’ve only been here for two weeks but, as for now, my most memorable moment was going to see a comedian, Christian Finnegan, perform at the Student Activities Center for free! He was really funny and I had a great time.

What is your dream job?
I plan to become a Physician’s Assistant; however, I would love any job that keeps me happy and active.

When prospective students and their families take a tour with you, you would like them to walk away with what type of feeling or thought?
I’d want them to walk away with all of their questions answered. I’d want them to be impressed and blown away by the campus. I’d want them to feel positive feelings and walk away smiling.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
I would tell them how happy I’ve been here! I’ve made so many new friends and I love my classes. There are so many things to do here; I’m never bored. Going to Stony Brook is such a great experience and the education quality is worth the relatively low cost to attend.

I chose biology as a major because it is an incredibly diverse field, with a limitless number of opportunities in research and experimentation and the medical field.

Favorite nearby off campus spot?
My favorite off campus spot is the mall, which is only fifteen minutes away.

My favorite spot on campus is the water fountain in the middle of the academic mall because it is incredibly peaceful and serene and the perfect place to relax and watch campus life.

When prospective students and their families take a tour with you, you would like them to walk away with what type of feeling or thought?
I would like them to walk away with the feeling that this is the school for them and it is a place where they belong and can also see themselves attending in the future.

Favorite spot on campus? Why?
My favorite spot on campus is the Student Activity Center (SAC).  The SAC has everything including the Seawolves Marketplace, a cafeteria, and a train ticket booth.  In my opinion, it’s the best place to socialize and meet new people.  There is always something going on in the ballrooms.  The SAC is just full of life. 

Favorite place to grab a bite to eat on campus?
My favorite place to grab a bite to eat on campus would be the Jasmine cafeteria at the Wang center.  They have a variety of Chinese, Korean and Indian food and the price is also reasonable.

Most memorable moment on campus?
My most memorable moment on campus is my orientation Part II at the Lavalle Stadium.  The Stony Brook Marching band and the cheer leaders were there just to welcome us. It was one of the many times when I felt very proud to be a Seawolf.

When prospective students and their families take a tour with you, you would like them to walk away with what type of feeling or thought?
I want them to feel that Stony Brook is a place where they will have everything that they need to succeed in their lives.  I want them to feel welcomed and I also want them to walk away with the knowledge of every single thing we have to offer here at Stony Brook University.

After the tour, I would like them to know that Stony Brook is an excellent university to attend because of its high academic ranking, affordable tuition, and ideal location.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
I would tell prospective students that Stony Brook University is known for its educational excellence. It offers a wide range of majors and minors to choose from and that can be very helpful for students who are still undecided with their major.

Favorite nearby off campus spot?
My favorite nearby off-campus spot would have to be Smith Haven Mall. It is just a short bus ride away and it has all the stores I shop at back home. It is also a great spot to hang out with friends on the weekends.

Most memorable moment on campus?
My most memorable moment on campus would have to be my first day here as a freshman because that is when I met my roommate and best friend. Neither of us was from the area and we immediately clicked. 3 years later we’re still best friends and have created a lot more memories together.

What is your dream job?
My dream job would be doing research on penguins in the Arctic. Although I hate freezing weather, being out there for penguins would be a dream.

What would you tell prospective students about Stony Brook?
Prospective students need to know that Stony Brook is a great place to learn. Although it may be difficult at times all the resources you need to succeed are on campus you just have to ask someone where to find them. When school gets rough and you need a break there are always events on campus open to all students. It’s a great way to meet new people and make connections that can really last a lifetime.
