I hang out playing games outside if it is nice or I go to one of the events that go on in the Staller Center. I usually go for those so I could support them but most importantly so I could make fun of them later.
Favorite nearby off campus spot?
West Meadow Beach! I usually go to Coldstone Creamery, get me a “Love it” sized Sweet Cream ice cream with crushed brownies and a heath bar and then go to the beach to eat my ice cream and read. Sometimes if there are no kids in the playground I go on the swings. It is so much fun!!!
Most memorable moment on campus?
I don’t know too much about football or baseball and I recently learned all the technicalities of the words attached to each sport. Last homecoming, it was at the end of the game and they went into double overtime. Finally Stony Brook scored winning the game and I got so happy and carried away I started screaming “Yea! We scored a homerun!” The pained look I got from my friends—who are crazy sports fans and had tried to get me to understand the game—who subsequently turned away like they didn’t know who I was, will live in my heart forever.

I hope the students will feel the excitement that I felt my freshman year and still do about college. I want the students to say to themselves, “Wow, now it is time that I take control of my life” by just not looking and listening to everything I say on the tour and then letting it go in one ear and out the other, instead being a sponge, soaking up everything, and then taking action on what they have heard that will enable them to get a better sense, much deeper appreciation, and then allowing them to take advantage of what the college experience has to offer. Once again it’s one of the most important decisions he or she will have to make, and I want him or her to make the right one.
