We're only 60 miles east of New York City and 60 miles west of Montauk Point.

- Canoe or kayak on the nearby Nissequogue River.

- Get wet at Splish Splash Water Park.
- Check out the Cradle of Aviation Museum, where Charles Lindbergh
took off on the first non-stop flight between New York and Paris.
Discover the farms and vineyards of the North Fork.- The University is a partner in managing the Department of Energy's Brookhaven National Laboratory, which conducts research in the physical, biomedical, and environmental sciences, as well as in energy technologies.
- The Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory has research programs focusing on cancer, neurobiology, plant genetics, genomics and bioinformatics.
And, with a Long Island Rail Road Station right on the perimeter of the campus, a short trip will bring you to the heart of one of the most exciting cities in the world — New York City.
