How to Apply

An application form is on the inside back cover our brochure. A completed application, a copy of your secondary school transcript (including the latest quarter’s grades), and a check for $200 made payable to Stony Brook University should be submitted, no later than Monday, December 24, to:

Your application requires signatures of approval from a guidance counselor or principal and from a parent or guardian. Please specify the course number and section preferences on the application. Acceptance is based on the overall quality of your academic record, as well as your preparation for a particular course. Students accepted into the program may take one course. Requests for two courses will be considered for subsequent semesters. If you’re applying for a course with an AP prerequisite, you must include copies of your AP score(s) with your application. You are also required to submit the Meningitis Information Response Form at the same time you submit your application to the Young Scholars Program.

Students in the Young Scholars Program need to submit a new application for each semester of study at the University. Many courses are limited in size; therefore, you should apply as early as possible.

Note: The first day of classes is Monday, January 25, 2010.
