You’ll find what you’re looking for at Stony Brook University. We recognize that no one program can meet the expectations of all of our most gifted students. Hence, we offer a variety of experiences and programs that will challenge, inspire, and sustain our most academically talented students.
All high-achieving freshman applicants are automatically considered for University Scholars, a program offering priority course registration, special academic advising, and a variety of academic and extracurricular opportunities. Additional steps are required to apply for some programs, such as the Honors College, which includes a four-year interdisciplinary curriculum, and Women In Science and Engineering, which provides enhanced faculty interaction and hands-on research opportunities to women entering the science, math and engineering fields.
