Application procedures and deadlines for consideration for these programs:
- Applicants who wish to be considered for any of the programs listed above or for merit scholarships should submit their application for admission by December 1st, and submit all supporting documentation, including high school transcript, SAT/ACT scores, Teacher Evaluation, and the Supplemental Application (including essay) by December 31st.
- Students applying through the Common Application must write an essay on Topic #1 in the Personal Essay section if applying for the Honors College or WISE: Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have have faced and its impact on you.
- In addition to submitting all required materials for admission to the University, a second Teacher Evaluation is required for those who wish to be considered for the Honors College, Women In Science and Engineering, Scholars for Medicine, or Engineering Scholars for Medicine.
- Scholars for Medicine and Engineering Scholars for Medicine applicants are required to submit an additional essay on the topic: Paint a verbal portrait of an ideal physician and tell us about the experiences that you have had which have helped to shape this ideal.

The Honors College
Minimum Requirements: Combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score of 1300, and unweighted high school average of 93.
Program Description: The Honors College offers high-achieving students innovative seminars, small classes, and leadership opportunities. Honors College students receive the individual attention and small seminar courses typically found only in small colleges while enjoying the vast range of academic opportunities available only at a major research university. Women in Science and Engineering (WISE)
Minimum Requirements: Combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score of 1240, and unweighted high school average of 91.
Program Description: The Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) Program seeks to increase the number of women in science, math and engineering fields through outreach, recruitment and retention efforts. The WISE Program enables undergraduate women to work closely with peers and faculty to form friendships and to achieve a solid background in their field. Scholars for Medicine
Minimum Requirements: Must be a freshman applicant to the Honors College and/or WISE Program; Combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score of 1350, and unweighted high school average of 95.
Program Description: Stony Brook's Scholars for Medicine Program is an integrated eight-year B.A./M.D. course of study offered to exceptional high school students. Engineering Scholars for Medicine
Minimum Requirements: Must be a freshman applicant to a B.E. degree program in the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences; Combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score of 1350, and unweighted high school average of 95.
Program Description: The Engineering Scholars for Medicine Program is an integrated eight-year B.E./M.D. course of study offered to exceptional high school students. The program is an outstanding opportunity for high-achieving students who wish to pursue both their interests in the engineering and medical fields. Honors Program in Computer Science
Minimum Requirements: Combined SAT Math and Critical Reading score of 1300, and unweighted high school average of 93.
Program Description: Computer Science honors students attend small classes, participate in personalized academic advising sessions, get priority registration for computer science courses, enjoy honors social events with other students and faculty, and take advanced special topics courses. University Scholars
Minimum Requirements: All high-achieving freshman applicants are considered for admission as a University Scholar; no additional procedures are required.
