soarSelf-Report Your Academic Record

Go green: save paper, trees, and energy!
Self-report your academic record online, using SOAR (SUNY Online Academic Record).
Get instant confirmation that your transcript has been received.

How it works:

Step 1

Obtain a copy of your high school transcript from your college counselor.

Step 2

Get started! SOAR can be accessed from within the SUNY Application Portal. All information (i.e. grades, grade-point average, class rank, etc.) should be self-reported exactly as it appears on your transcript. Students applying with The Common Application can also use SOAR; you'll be asked to enter your Common Application ID on the final step.

Step 3

Save postage and paper! Please don’t send an interim transcript to Stony Brook. At the conclusion of your senior year, if you are accepted and choose to enroll at Stony Brook, ask your high school to upload your final high school transcript by July 15 using either:

The Common Application’s School Forms System
(for students who submitted The Common Application).

SUNY CounselorConnect (for students who submitted the SUNY Application).

Step 4

Stony Brook will verify your self-reported transcript against your official final transcript for accuracy. If misrepresentations are found, Stony Brook reserves the right to rescind an offer of admission.
