Regular Admission (U.S. Residents): While there is no formal deadline for freshman applicants, students are encouraged to apply for fall admission by December 1; for spring admission by November 1.
International Regular Admission: For the fall semester, the deadline for completed international applications is April 1; for the spring semester, it is October 1.
Early Action: Stony
Brook participates in Early Action,
a non-binding early application and notification program for fall freshmen.
Your application must reach us by November
15 and supporting documentation (high school transcripts and SAT/ACT scores) by December 15. International applicants are not eligible for Early Action, and students cannot apply for EOP and Early Action at the same time. Application status and admission decisions will be available online by January 1st for Early Action applicants.
High Achievers: Freshman applicants should complete their application for admission to the University for the fall semester by December 1, and provide all supporting documentation including the Supplemental Application by December 31 to receive the fullest consideration for:
Educational Opportunity Program: Stony Brook's Educational Opportunity Program/Advancement on Individual Merit (EOP/AIM) is for New York State residents who are economically and educationally disadvantaged.
