- Make your payments by clicking on "Pay Initial Deposits/Fee" under
For New Students.
- Pay online or by mail by the date indicated on your Letter of Admission.
- Both the $100 Tuition Deposit and $180 Orientation Fee are required of all new students.
- The $200 Campus Housing Deposit is required for those who wish to live on-campus.
- Tell us your New Student Preferences by clicking on "New Student Preferences" under For New Students.
Freshmen: Undergraduate College Preferences (required): you must submit your preferences for Undergraduate Colleges in order to receive your orientation date and register for classes. Once you have been placed in an Undergraduate College, you will be contacted with your orientation date.
Transfers: Living Learning Center Preferences (optional): you may submit your preferences for the Living Learning Center program.
You will need to list the e-mail addresses of any preferred roommates when completing your online New Student Preferences. Be sure to use the preferred e-mail address on file with Stony Brook University (your preferred e-mail address can be updated when you log on to New Student Preferences).
Meal Plan Preferences (required of all new students living on campus)
Bookstore Account Preferences
- Click on "Financial Aid" under the Student Financial Services section to accept/decline your awards online.
- Under "My To Do List Items," click on and complete the Meningitis Form.
To login, you’ll need both your Stony Brook ID and Password. If you have not already logged into SOLAR, these are located on the upper-right of the letter of admission included with your Admissions Packet. You will be prompted to change your password after you login for the first time.
