There are 5 practice rooms available. Three are equipped with Yamaha upright pianos, one contains a Wurlitzer organ, and one is suited for string players, wind players and small chamber ensembles.
September - May:
Monday-Friday 11:00 a.m. to midnight
Saturday & Sunday 11:30 a.m. to midnight
June-August:
Monday-Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
A practice room can be reserved for those students who need to practice daily. Student groups may reserve practice rooms for up to three hours a day; no reservation is required for individual students. Reservations can be made for three hours a day or blocks of time throughout the semester. Reservations for practice rooms will be taken at the beginning and during the course of the semester, but you may not reserve a practice room for a future semester.
Simply send an email to the Facilities Manager (carl.wiltshire@stonybrook.edu). Included in the email must be your first & last name, student ID #, day & time you want to reserve the room, and the kind of room you need to practice in, one with a piano or without a piano.

I know the first few weeks on campus can be a little overwhelming, so to help you get adjusted and give you important information that all new freshmen should be aware of, please view this Advising for the First Two Weeks PowerPoint. Remember, if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
All the best,
