Trail Fix
4:00PM - 6:00PM, Benedict Atrium (H-Quad)
Are you sick of looking at garbage around the wooded trails that connect the academic buildings around campus? Do you want to do something about it? Meet us at the Benedict Atrium at 4:00 PM on Friday, September 18 to lend a helping hand. We will break up into groups and then tackle the trails on campus. Snacks and water will be supplied for all your hard work – all you have to bring is a good attitude!

Hunger Banquet
7:00PM - 8:30PM, Benedict Atrium (H-Quad)
Students will listen to an informative presentation on Oxfam America and Fair Trade. After the presentation, students will actively participate in a 'hunger banquet' to illustrate the true inequalities associated with poverty around the world. Students will experience and visibly relate to the differences in socioeconomic class and status through participation in the ironically titled "Hunger banquet".

Long Island Start! Heart Walk
10:00AM - 12:00pm, Stony Brook University (exact location TBA)
The Long Island Start! Heart Walk is a solution to getting people to increase their physical activity and to combat rising healthcare costs. The goal of the walk is to recruit walkers and raise funds to support important life saving research and educational programs while raising awareness of the importance of physical activity. Students participating in this event should wear their LDS t-shirt and comfortable shoes. Time and location to meet on campus will be announced at a later time.

Yele Haiti
8:00PM - 9:00PM, Langmuir College Main Lounge (H-Quad)
During this program, students will learn information about impoverished and forgotten neighborhoods in Haiti. Students will then participate in a service learning activity in which they will gather donations for the people of Haiti.

Sundaes and Slices
7:00PM - 8:00PM, James College Main Lounge (H-Quad)
Enjoy a night of free ice-cream! In addition to having a great time with your peers, all students who attend this program must bring an item to donate (i.e. nonperishable food items, gently-used clothing). All donations will go to an organization on Long Island which helps homeless individuals. Students will also make blankets for the homeless and receive information about homelessness on Long Island.

New York City Tolerance Center
3:30PM, New York City
The New York City Tolerance Center is in the heart of Manhattan and is a professional development multi-media facility. Through interactive workshops, exhibits, and videos, individuals explore issues of prejudice, diversity, tolerance, and cooperation in the workplace and in the community. This interactive experience is appropriately 2 hours and is FREE to LDS students. Space is limited, so please sign up early. Students will meet on campus and then take the train into New York City. Appropriate time for this event is 12-6pm which includes travel to and from the city and the actual event. Time and location to meet on campus will be announced at a later time.
