The GLS International Student Mentor Program assists new international students who are members of the Undergraduate College of Global Studies (GLS) community transition academically, culturally, and socially to the United States and Stony Brook University (SBU). Mentors are fellow students who make themselves available to assist new international students in GLS during their first semester at Stony Brook University. For mentors, this is an opportunity to learn about other cultures and make new friends from around the world. Mentors are friendly and open-minded students who have been at SBU for at least one semester and are sincerely committed to helping new international students adjust to life away from home.
