Students Entering Sophomore Year

Congratulations on completing your first year at Stony Brook University! We hope your involvement in your Undergraduate College helped to make this past year successful. As you prepare to enter your sophomore year, we hope you will continue to utilize the resources presented to you this year.

Next year, your Quad Director and Residence Hall Director will continue to assist you with information regarding your housing and connect you to resources on campus, and commuter students are encouraged to utilize the Commuter Student Services office. The Career Center is available to assist you with future opportunities and internships, and the Center for Prevention and Outreach can assist you with making healthy decisions in your personal life. If you have not yet declared your major, please take time to visit the Undergraduate Program Directors in the academic departments that interest you.

For your academic advising needs, you will meet with advisors in the Academic and Pre-Professional Advising Center. They will be happy assist you in further defining your academic goals as you make progress toward the completion of a Stony Brook degree. If you have declared your major, please continue to communicate with your academic department concerning major requirements.
