101 Instructor Agreement
Fall 2010
In signing this agreement, I acknowledge the following responsibilities of my role as a 101 First-Year Seminar instructor for the Fall 2010 semester.
Primary Responsibilities
- Teach assigned First-Year Seminar according to the 101 curriculum.
- Teach assigned UGC/SCH curricular content in the 101 first-year seminar class.
- Attend three instructor meetings (September, October, November)
- Disseminate information to class provided by the Assistant Director of Undergraduate Colleges through email.
- Remain in contact with Undergraduate College Advisors and Assistant Director of Undergraduate Colleges in regards to student and class concerns.
- Volunteer to assist in the implementation of Commons Day (October 20th, 2010).
Secondary Responsibilities
- Communicate with students individually outside of the classroom through individual meetings, email, or blackboard to discuss student progress.
- Serve as a secondary academic advisor to students.
- Support College events by attendance and active participation.
If you find that you are unable to teach your class for one session
- Make all possible attempts to find someone to cover your session
- Notify the following people in the event you can not:
- The advisor(s) for your college
- Jason Mastrogiovanni, Assistant Director of Undergraduate Colleges
Compensation (volunteer instructors only)
- Volunteer instructors will be eligible for $500 in extra service pay per course section. Please note if you are co-teaching a course, the amount will be split and each instructor will receive $250. If you are teaching two sections, the amount will be doubled.
- Extra service pay will be distributed in your paycheck and will be taxed. Details regarding timing of disbursement and procedure for processing timesheet(s) will be provided shortly.
