Welcome to Stony Brook University and to the University Scholars Program. As a University Scholar, you are among the top 7% of incoming freshmen academically. University Scholars is a networking platform to help you get the most out of your Stony Brook experience. With this program, you will be able to make connections with other high achieving students, with our world class faculty, and to both leadership and research opportunities on campus. Our purpose is to create a community of learners based on leadership, scholarship, and academic excellence.
With Scholars, you will have your own exclusive orientation date, your own first year seminars, a rich and exciting calendar of events, access to specialized academic advising for high achieving students, as well as priority registration for classes. You will also have the option to take classes as a group with other University Scholars.
As the new Director for the University Scholars Program, my goal is to help you reach your potential, and to make your first year experience at Stony Brook successful, rewarding and fun. We have many exciting activities planned for this academic year, and we look forward to working with you during your first year and beyond at Stony Brook.
