The Multidisciplinary Studies (MTD) program allows a student who is interested in more than one field of study to design an individual major by drawing on courses from two or three subject areas. The MTD major leads to a B.A. degree, and is a program of the College of Arts and Sciences. The MTD program offers no courses of its own. A student majoring in MTD may not have a second major.
Admission to the MTD major is not automatic or instantaneous. For instructions on applying to the major, see the section "How to Apply."
A student majoring in MTD is encouraged to also do one or more minors coinciding with the student's MTD areas of concentration. The areas of concentration within the MTD major are not themselves minors; you must contact the coordinator of that minor to enroll.
An Honors program in MTD is available to students with gpa's of 3.00 overall and 3.50 in their MTD areas of concentration. For information, see the Undergraduate Bulletin .
