John Steinback's American classic The Grapes of Wrath adapted for the stage by Frank Galati, tells the story of the Joad family as they flee their dying, dust-ravaged Oklahoma home in search of a better life. The play is a rallying cry for unity against injustice that celebrates the triumph of the human spirit over despair. We were pleased to present this play in a time when we need to be reminded not of the horrors of the past and the current terrors facing the world, but rather of our common bonds and our capacity for greatness. "The people are in flight from the terror behind," Steinbeck wrote, and "strange things happen to them, some bitterly cruel and some so beautiful the faith is refired forever."
