Green Stony Brook Map
In early 2007, the Environmental Stewardship department formed a Sustainability Task Force. This group meets monthly throughout the academic year and is comprised of students, faculty, staff and FSA. Every year we choose one or two projects to accomplish during that academic year. We have talked a great deal about how to better spread the word and inform people of all the wonderful programs and projects that are either already completed or currently underway at Stony Brook University. We publish routine newsletters with current information on sustainable efforts around campus but we always feel more needs to be done. The map below is the project that the Task Force agreed to develop during the 2009-2010 academic year. We truly hope you find it useful and would love to hear suggestions for additions to the map since the campus is always evolving and changing. Please email Amy Provenzano, Executive Director of Environmental Stewardship.
You can use the map one of three ways. As with any map, you can mouse over and see the specific topic. Click on the link for more information! On the right hand side are icons which depict the categories of efforts we chose to highlight. Click on any of them to either include them or remove them from the map. Finally at the very bottom are the efforts themselves which you can click on.
