The University at Buffalo (UB) Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (LSAMP) is a student enrichment and support services program sponsored by the National Science Foundation. The goal of LSAMP is to improve the academic performance and retention of students who are historically underrepresented in the areas of engineering, mathematics, and the natural sciences. LSAMP provides both supportive services and enrichment activities for its students who are majoring in or intend to major in the following disciplines:

• Aerospace Engineering
• Biological Sciences
• Chemical Engineering
• Chemistry
• Civil Engineering
• Computer Science
• Computer Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Geological Sciences
• Industrial Engineering
• Mathematics
• Mechanical Engineering
• Physics

• Tutorial assistance is available to all LSAMP students at no charge and is available in a variety of courses related to the disciplines of engineering, mathematics, and the sciences. Group and individual sessions are provided depending on student need.
• Research and/or industrial internship opportunities are provided for LSAMP participants during the fall and spring semesters as well as summer sessions.
• LSAMP students are offered the opportunity to attend conferences to assist in their preparation for career opportunities and graduate and professional school.
• Scholarship and/or stipend support is provided for a limited number of students.
