Program Description Ireland’s rich cultural heritage endured the colonial period and then the more recent post industrial eras as one of the “Celtic Tigers.” Students will begin their exploration in Galway, then heading to the site of one of the first English Plantations – Kilkenny. The trip wraps up in Dublin, the capital of this flourishing nation. Through visits to cliffs and castles, cathedrals and tombs, fortresses and museums, mountains and more, students will explore the vibrant history and culture of Ireland.
Courses Offered All participants will register for 6 total credits.
• HIS 208 Ireland from St. Patrick to the Present (DEC I) – 3 credits • HIS 392 Topics in European History (DEC I) – 3 credits All students will register for the following course: • HIS 447 Independent Readings in History – 3 credits
