Program Description: The University of Auckland is New Zealand's number one university, ranked in the world's top 50 universities, and top in New Zealand for research. Students can study a wide range of courses, from architecture and arts to science and technology. Students enroll directly in University courses alongside other New Zealand students. Auckland's international student program offers a wide variety of activities for exchange students and has a strong support system to ensure a smooth transition into the University. Located in the city of Auckland, New Zealand, the University of Auckland is a member of "Universitas 21," an organization some of the most important institutions in the world join. Steeped in Maori culture as well as that of the British, it is an interesting choice for students of Anthropology.

Program Costs:

  • $200 Administrative fee (non-refundable)
  • $750 Program fee per semester
  • $2,935 SUNY Undergraduate Tuition per semester for NY residents, $8,905 per semester for non-residents
  • $97/month (approximately): International Health Insurance must be purchased through Stony Brook University
  • $6,460-$8,160 (approximately): Students pay room, board, books, transportation and other university fees directly to overseas university
  • $2,025-$2,325 (approximately): Students are responsible for their travel arrangements including airfare, visa costs

* Housing arrangements are coordinated directly with the partner university. Cost will vary depending on accommodation types and personal preference.

* Cost Comparison: The average cost for a full time Stony Brook Student including tuition, insurance, housing, and meal plan is approximately $10,445 in-state and $15,735 out-of-state.

  • IAPS may take the opportunity to interview candidates to determine their qualifications for participating and representing Stony Brook University abroad.
  • GPA 3.0

Application Deadline:

  • March 1 for Fall admission.
