Program Description: USIU is an excellent choice for anthropology majors as well as any individual who is interested in the international relations or foreign aid work, as it provides students with a unique work environment in the city of Nairobi. Fields of study also include international relations, journalism, psychology, business administration, hotel and restaurant management, information systems and technology, international business administration, tourism management, and accounting. Program Costs:

  • $200 Administrative fee (non-refundable)
  • $750 Program fee per semester
  • $2,935 SUNY Undergraduate Tuition per semester for NY residents, $8,905 per semester for non-residents
  • $97/month (approximately): International Health Insurance must be purchased through Stony Brook University
  • $1,200 (approximately): Students pay room, board, books, transportation and other university fees directly to overseas university
  • $1,600 (approximately): Students are responsible for their travel arrangements including airfare, visa costs

* Housing arrangements are coordinated directly with the partner university. Cost will vary depending on accommodation types and personal preference.

* Cost Comparison: The average cost for a full time Stony Brook Student including tuition, insurance, housing, and meal plan is approximately $10,445 in-state and $15,735 out-of-state.

  • IAPS may take the opportunity to interview candidates to determine their qualifications for participating and representing Stony Brook University abroad.
