closeIreland’s rich cultural heritage endured the colonial period and then the more recent post industrial eras as one of the “Celtic Tigers.” Students will begin their exploration in Galway, then heading to the site of one of the first English Plantations – Kilkenny. The trip wraps up in Dublin, the capital of this flourishing nation. Through visits to cliffs and castles, cathedrals and tombs, fortresses and museums, mountains and more, students will explore the vibrant history and culture of Ireland.

closeExperience SBU’s international summer school in St. Petersburg - Russia’s cultural center since its creation by Peter the Great in the early 18th Century. This summer school, founded by SBU Professor of Linguistics John Bailyn, is housed at St. Petersburg State University, Russia’s oldest university. The summer school attracts not only students from throughout Russia and Europe, but also an international faculty who offer courses in a variety of disciplines. Participants will earn 6 to 9 credits and fulfill general education, upper-division, and major/minor requirements.

closeThe Madagascar Study Abroad Program has been running since 1998 as an undergraduate course through Stony Brook University. Stony Brook University is a leader in the fields of anthropology, as well as ecology and evolution. Nine credits can be earned through participation in this program. Courses will conducted by resident and visiting professors of Ornithology, Entomology, Ichthyology, Limnology, Botany, Anthropology, Zoology, and Primatology. Students work alongside Malagasy and foreign students and scientists, and research station staff, with guidance from field course professors. Your independent research will contribute to our understanding of Ranomafana National Park and the link between the Park and the people of the region.
