AGEP Summer Research Institute
AGEP (Alliance for Graduate Education and the Professoriate) seeks under-represented minority juniors or senior college students with a 3.0 GPA in the sciences, math, engineering or technology who are US citizens or permanent residents who want to explore careers in academe. The Summer Research Institute is a means to get a taste for advanced academic work. Acceptance is competitive, based on academic merit.
What the Program Offers
An 8 week internship in a research lab at Stony Brook University with a Stony Brook faculty member that will result in the student's presenting his/her research at the end of the Institute to an audience of faculty and students.
Seminars to prepare for applying to graduate school, including a math seminar to prepare for the GRE and a research methods seminar.
Travel expenses, room, board, and a $3500 stipend.
