HEA Students To Present Papers at International Education Conference
Seven students who participated in the Higher Education Administration Study Abroad program presented papers at a conference on comparative and international education at the University of Massachusetts–Amherst on November 1 and 2. The conference theme was Education in Uncertain Times, and it was sponsored by the UMass Center for International Education. The students' papers, written for CEK 560 Comparative University Systems course, are based on information gathered during last summer's two-week trip to the cities of Shanghai, Nanjing and Beijing. The students visited 5 universities and a high school where they met individually with Chinese undergraduates and attended lectures on the administration, history and culture of Chinese higher education.
