Educational Leadership Programs Orientation

We are delighted that you have selected one of the School of Professional Development's (SPD) Educational Leadership programs to help satisfy your academic and professional goals. We have prepared this Orientation website to instruct you on SPD's policies and procedures and to familiarize you with the resources that are available to you as an SPD student.

Please proceed carefully through the Orientation website, as its completion is required for you to be eligible to enroll in courses. The website's pages are designed to follow a particular order. At the bottom of each page you will find a link to the following page. You can track where you are in the site by looking for the "»" symbol on the left navigation bar. On the last page, you will click to be taken to an online Orientation Checklist, which must be submitted to complete the Orientation.

You are responsible for knowing all of the information contained in this site, but don't worry -- there won't be a quiz. Just make sure you understand everything you read here and be sure to read and save the SPD Bulletin(you'll need to have Adobe Reader or some other PDF viewer installed). You can also bookmark this site for future reference by selecting Ctrl-D (or Command-D for Mac Users).

Take note of the box in the top right corner. It appears on every page. If you have a question about anything in this site, please click on the "Send an email" link to contact an Academic Advisor.

Everyone at SPD wishes you the best of luck with your studies.

Statement of Student Responsibility

Students themselves—whether new, returning, or continuing—are responsible for reviewing, understanding, and adhering to their degree and/or certificate program requirements. (SPD’s non-matriculating [non-degree] graduate students [GSP] are responsible for adhering to the guidelines related to non-matriculated status.) All SPD students are responsible for reviewing, understanding, and complying with University and SPD regulations, policies, and procedures, as described in all official publications, the University website, and the SPD website, including, but not limited to, SPD’s online references, the SPD Bulletin and SPD Academic Calendar.
