Using the Automatic Waitlist on SOLAR

Certain SPD courses (including all online and Project Seminar courses) are scheduled with a waitlist option in SOLAR. If a course with the waitlist option is closed, students may place themselves on a waitlist for the course (if there is space available). Students who are on a waitlist will automatically be enrolled in the course as new vacancies arise and their accounts will be charged accordingly. In the event that a waitlist reaches capacity, SPD will consider opening an additional section of the course. In this instance, waitlisted students would be automatically enrolled into the new section.

Students enrolled from the waitlist will receive an email from SOLAR or from the School of Professional Development. It is the student's responsibility to ensure that the University has a single, valid email address that can be used for contact purposes. The student should also ensure that he or she can receive messages from "" and "" If a message from the University is blocked by a spam filter, the student is still responsible for that information.

Students can check on their waitlist status at any time by logging into SOLAR.
