Computer Training at the School of Professional Development
The School of Professional Development has been a successful
computer training provider for over 20 years, assisting adults who want
to change careers, re-enter the workplace or upgrade their skills to advance in their profession.
Whether it be a multi-course IT certification program or a two-session
class on using Excel, we have the training you need offered in a variety of formats.
On-Campus
All on-campus classes are led by instructors with
real-world experience in well-maintained laboratories
equipped with the latest hardware and software. Students have the choice of registering
for individual courses or enrolling in a complete
certificate program.
Online
Stony Brook University, in partnership with ed2go (formerly Gatlin Education Services), offers online open enrollment programs designed to provide the skills necessary to acquire professional level positions for many in-demand occupations. Courses include web design and development, IT certification preparation, AutoCAD, Microsoft applications and more. View online course listings.
On-site
All training programs can be customized for on-site delivery. For details on corporate training, contact Amy Margolies at amy.margolies@stonybrook.edu.
Certificate Programs
Certification is often the best way to prove competency in a particular
software application or complementary set of applications, and students who register in advance for a complete certificate program receive discounted tuition. See Computer Training Certificate
