Cuba Writers Workshop Application
The 2014 Cuba Writers Workshop is open to students (graduate & undergraduate) of all universities pursuing academic degrees in Creative Writing or English.
Applications must be received by September 7, 2013.
The preliminary application is free of charge. If you are accepted, you will need to file two additional applications in order to be in the Stony Brook System (they are technicalities). One is through the School of Professional Development ($90 application fee) and the other is through Stony Brook’s International Academic Programs (application fee of $65).

If you are outside of the Stony Brook Southampton MFA program:
- Please include a statement of purpose of 500 words or less
- One letter of recommendation attesting to the strength of your work and your level of commitment to it.
- Submit a writing sample of unpublished, original prose work of 10 to 20 pages. Longer submissions will not be reviewed. Manuscripts must be in 12-point font, double-spaced, with the writer's name on each page. Pages must be numbered. Please include a brief synopsis if the work is an excerpt from a longer piece.
Submissions cannot be returned.
If you are a Stony Brook Southampton MFA Students please upload a word document that says
"Stony Brook Southampton MFA Student" in the three fields that require you to upload documents.
