Brent Wasser will teach the Foundations Course at our New York City facility. Brent emphasizes the close relationship of wines and foods. After studying culinary arts at The Culinary Institute of America, he worked as Head Cheese Maker at Sprout Creek Farm in the Hudson Valley and later joined the wine production team at Cakebread Cellars in the Napa Valley where he expanded his wine knowledge. A holder of the WSET Diploma and a Certified Wine Educator, Brent approaches wine education as an expression of regional farm communities and the relationship between the land and the wines produced. He is also a beer specialist, having earned the distinction Diplom-Biersommelier from the Doemens Institute brewing school in Munich, Germany. Brent is currently a master’s candidate in Food Studies at New York University and works at Crush Wine and Spirits in New York City.
