• A healthy start in life for babies and children
• Support services so seniors can live independently
• Nourishing meals to families in need
State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA)
State employees are keenly aware of the complex network of not-for-profit organizations that provide critical services to meet the needs of families and neighbors. Most state employees are in a position to help people everyday. But many want to do more to help those people who are less fortunate. Out of the collective desire to do more for others, the State Employees Federated Appeal (SEFA) was born.
The United Way of Long Island
By giving to The United Way of Long Island, you don't have to choose. The United Way is an umbrella organization that makes it easy to reach most non-profit agencies on Long Island. When you combine the power of your gift with the gifts of others, thousands of local people are helped, and the entire community is strengthened. Working together with more than 175 health and human service organizations, United Way contributors help prevent youth violence, help care for the very young and the elderly, provide emergency food, shelter, and clothing, support job training assistance for the disabled, and much more.
The campaign runs through December 31, 2012. Your donation goes directly to the charity of your choice.
The campaign is managed by SEFA/United Way.
