Sublime Tastes: Southampton 2007

Wine Center logoThe Stony Brook University Center for Wine, Food, and Culture presents its second annual Sublime Tastes: Southampton 2007 to benefit the Center's program in conjunction with the new curriculum at the Southampton campus.

Local, Fresh, Authentic: What Makes Food Great?

Is it flamboyant grill skills? Pristinely fresh ingredients, from lettuce to lobster? A profound connection to ethnic traditions? A chef’s intuition for fulfilling the diner’s desires?

On Saturday, October 27, 2007, a Pulitzer Prize-winning food critic, an expert on ethnic gardens, and the New York Times' premier wine, food, and travel journalist will present a lively discussion of the sublime in food. It will be followed by a walkabout tasting and Harvest Celebration hosted by leading wineries and restaurants, and accompanied by live music from Stony Brook's renowned school of music.

Date: Saturday, October 27, 2007, 1-5 p.m.
Harvest Reception: 5-7 p.m.
Location: Fine Arts Center, Stony Brook Southampton
Cost: Symposia/Panel Discussion: $85; Harvest Reception Only: $50
