Soprano and Stony Brook University alumna Christine Goerke has sung with many of the world’s major opera companies and orchestras, including the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, the Paris Opera, The New York City Opera, the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Santa Fe Opera, Seattle Opera, the New York Philharmonic, San Francisco Symphony, The Los Angeles Symphony, and the Atlanta Symphony. Last season Ms. Goerke made auspicious debuts at both the San Francisco Opera as Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus and sang the title role in Ariadne auf Naxos at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. Next season her engagements include Chrysothemis in Strauss’ Elektra at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino under the direction of Seiji Ozawa, the title role in Norma with the Philadelphia Opera, and a debut at the Washington National Opera reprising the role of Chrysothemis in Elektra. Ms. Goerke is Artistic Director of Sustainable Pleasures.
Anthony Dean Griffey has won praise as a leading soloist and performer with opera companies and orchestras worldwide. Highlights from his 2006-2007 season included Jim Mahoney in Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny in his debut with the Los Angeles Opera, Mahler’s Eighth Symphony with the San Francisco Symphony, Britten’s Seranade and War Requiem with the Aspen Music Festival, Beethoven’s Missa Solemnis with the Milwaukee Symphony, and the role of Guido Bardi in Zemlinsky’s Eine Florentinische Tragödie at the Ravinia Festival. His 2004 solo recital debut at Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall featured a song cycle written for and dedicated to him by André Previn. Mr. Griffey has a new live recording of Britten’s War Requiem with Maestro Kurt Masur and the London Philharmonic. He will perform songs by Barber, Copland, Dowland, Griffes, Previn, Ravel, and Schubert.
Kristine Jepson has appeared at the world's leading houses, including the Metropolitan Opera, Teatro alla Scala, Royal Opera House Covent Garden, San Francisco Opera, Santa Fe Opera Festival, Opéra National de Paris, and Dresden's SemperOper. She debuted the role of Kitty in the world premiere of John Adams's Dr. Atomic and has received worldwide acclaim for her portrayal of Sister Helen in Jake Heggie's Dead Man Walking. Highlights this season included Idamante at the Metropolitan Opera, the Composer and Octavian at the SemperOper, and her debut at Seattle Opera as Sesto in Händel's Giulio Cesare. Ms. Jepson, accompanied by Tom Bagwell, will perform songs by Duparc, Mahler, Scheer, Schubert, and others.
Liz McCartney is a veteran of many Broadway musicals, most recently playing Rosie in Mamma Mia and Miss Flannery in the final cast of Thoroughly Modern Millie. She originated the roles of Sue Tilley in the Boy George musical Taboo and Rebecca in Dance of the Vampires, as well as playing Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera and Madame Thenardier in Les Miserables. She recently received rave reviews as Florence Foster Jenkins in Souvenir at the George Street Playhouse. Ms. McCartney has performed her one-woman show aboard Rosie O'Donnell's R Family Cruise, as well as at Don't Tell Mama, The Duplex, and The Laurie Beechman Theatre. Ms. McCartney's program will include songs from Funny Girl, Gypsy, Light in the Piazza, Peter Pan, Taboo, and Wicked.
