Converting Theory into Practice
Marine Sciences
This past winter our Marine Sciences students traveled to Jamaica for tropical marine ecology.
Housed at the Discovery Bay Marine Laboratory founded in 1965, students explore the ecology of coral reef ecosystems to a tropical nation. The laboratory is situated on the west side of the Bay, three hundred meters from the reef crest. Students develop and execute individual projects examining organismal ecology of coral reefs.
Read about their adventures in the travel blogs.
Madagascar
Students at Stony Brook Southampton will have the opportunity to embark on many exciting and rewarding academic adventures. One such activity is our Madagascar Study Abroad Program, headed by Professor Patricia C. Wright.
