A transformational $150 million gift to the University from Jim and Marilyn Simons and the Simons Foundation marks a milestone moment in the history of our young institution—one that we all have reason to celebrate. Between October 1, 2011 and December 6, 2012, Stony Brook University secured more than $50 million in gifts and documented pledges that meet the established standards and guidelines of the Simons Foundation Matching Challenge Grant.
