Council Resolutions

Resolution Expressing Appreciation to Charles B. Wang
Whereas, Charles Wang has shown extraordinary generosity to the people of New York State, through his unprecedented gift of the $25 million dollar Charles B. Wang Asian American Center, to be built on the Stony Brook Campus; and

Whereas, the Asian American Center will embody Charles Wang's inimitable spirit of innovation as a business leader, and will stand as a perpetual reminder of a magnanimous give-back to and support of public education by one of its most successful corporate alumni, and

Whereas, Charles Wang has taken a leadership role in helping to promote multicultural understanding, education, and artistic appreciation among the students, faculty, and staff of Stony Brook, and the people of Long Island, and

Whereas, the Stony Brook Council and campus community are forever grateful to Charles Wang for his example and his high regard for public education,

Now, therefore be it proclaimed, that the Stony Brook Council is pleased to honor Charles B. Wang by the presentation of a personalized Stony Brook University Chair as a token of the gratitude of the Council and the entire Stony Brook campus community.
