Mr. Richard T. Nasti, Chairman
Richard NastiRichard T. Nasti has served in a number of private sector and public service positions throughout his career. Mr. Nasti graduated summa cum laude from Stony Brook University in 1978 with a double major in economics and political science. He obtained his law degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Law in 1981 and is admitted to practice law in the State of New York.

In 1981, Mr. Nasti joined the Washington, D.C. staff of United States Senator Alfonse D'Amato where he initially served as a legislative assistant in areas including transportation, education, labor and health and human service. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Nasti was named chief counsel to Senator D'Amato, where his role was expanded to include a wide variety of legislative and policy issues.

In 1984, Mr. Nasti was named Regional Administrator of the Urban Mass Transportation Administration (UMTA) for Region II, which includes New York, New Jersey, Connecticut and the Virgin Islands. In this position, he was responsible for administering an over $1 billion annual federal transit capital program for the region's various transit systems. In 1986, Mr. Nasti left the position at UMTA to manage the successful re-election campaign of Senator D'Amato.

In 1987, Mr. Nasti became Vice President & General Manager of the New York Post, America's oldest continuously published newspaper, where he managed the business operations of the paper.

Mr. Nasti joined H.J. Kalikow & Company in 1993 and currently serves as the senior vice president of one of New York City's most respected real estate development, construction and management firms.

Mr. Nasti has earned several prestigious awards, including the Ellis Island Medal of Freedom, the Stony Brook Distinguished Alumnus Award, the Stony Brook University Medal and the Iona Preparatory School Blessed Edmund Rice Award for Distinguished Service. He has served on the boards of the Metropolitan Transportation Authority and Iona College. He currently serves on the boards of the Iona Preparatory School and the New Rochelle Police Foundation. Mr. Nasti was appointed Chair of the Stony Brook Council in 1995 by Governor George Pataki.

He and his wife, Maura, have two children.
