Robert H. Flynn
Robert H. Flynn was born in Astoria, New York, and attended P.S. 70 and Horace Greeley Junior High School. His family moved to Bayside where he attended Bayside High School; there he was elected to Arista (the Honor Society). He went on to Columbia University, where he was granted the degrees of Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts. He also holds a Master of Science from Hofstra University.
Flynn has taught English at Division Avenue High School in Levittown and Great Neck North Senior High School. For nine years, he taught English at the American Institute of Banking and for 19 years was an officer of a private commercial bank on Wall Street.
He taught English at Hofstra University for 14 years and at Nassau Community College for 10 years. For 45 years, he has been active in community affairs. He was elected President of Bayview Community Association and President of the Council of Greater Manhasset Civic Associations. He married Margaret Hooper and has four children.
