Stony Brook University is comprised of a remarkable community of students, faculty, staff, and visitors who spend varying amounts of time here. For many our campus is their “home away from home.” Campus safety is a top priority and we will continue to work hard in order to make Stony Brook a safe community for all.
In accordance with New York State’s Consolidated Education Laws and SUNY Policy 5401, the 2013-14 Campus Safety Advisory Committee, will review current campus security policies and procedures and make recommendations for their improvement. The Committee has been asked to identify and recommend strategies for the prevention of sexual harassment and sexual assault. The Committee will report their findings and recommendations to me at the end of the academic year. This report will be available upon request by contacting the President’s Office at (631) 632-6265.
