News and Announcements
October 6, 2008
Dear Colleague:
I am pleased to report that the Presidential Search Committee, in conjunction with the search firm, Russell Reynolds, has been hard at work in the search for our next president. Toward that end, we have been receiving a lot of positive input from throughout the campus from those interested in the search. In order to maximize input into the process, the committee will hold a series of forums on October 14, 2008, with a view toward giving interested parties the opportunity to share their ideas on the next presidency. It would be most productive if those interested in speaking at these forums give thought to whatever issues they deem important, including:
Again, the purpose of these forums is to better enable committee members to listen to the campus, so that we may do the best job possible in defining what we all want in our next president.
We will conduct three forums on October 14. The times are as follows:
A student forum will follow on another date, time to be announced.
We have broken up these forums for the convenience of the campus. They are open to all interested campus colleagues, so feel free to attend the one which is most convenient. When you arrive at a forum you will be asked to register first if you wish to speak, so that speakers may be called in an orderly and organized way.
If you wish to express your opinion about the issues noted above, but are unable to attend any of the forums, I would encourage you to submit your comments to the search committee via the secure email address that we have established for that purpose: PresSearch@stonybrook.edu Thank you for your interest in the future leadership of Stony Brook University.
Richard Nasti '78 Chair, Presidential Search Committee
