Obtaining Your Parking Permit
You must adhere to the guidelines specified by Stony Brook University Parking Rules and Regulations when operating your vehicle. If you park on campus, your vehicle must be registered and display a valid parking permit. You should not park on campus until you have a valid parking permit properly displayed on your vehicle. Parking Garages
The University has three multi-tiered parking garages on campus to serve faculty, staff, students, and visitors. Two of these garages, the Hospital Garage and the Health Sciences Center Garage, are located on East Campus. The third one, the Administration Garage, is located on West Campus. University Bus Services
The University provides free bus service on campus and weekend service to the local mall. Bus schedules may be obtained at Parking Services in the Administration Building or at Transportation Services in the South P lot.

There are specialized services provided for the Hospital, HSC, and Dental School, and to connect with the LIRR. For more information, check our Web site or call (631) 632-6418.

American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transportation
To access the Para-Transit system, disabled students must submit a copy of their class schedule to the Office of Disability Support Services (DSS) when requesting authorization. Call DSS at (631) 632-6748 for additional information.

Bicycling
There's a six-mile bicycle path on campus that provides a scenic way to travel about campus. For your convenience or during unanticipated inclement weather, you can bring your bicycle on board campus buses that are equipped with quick release bicycle racks.

Suffolk County Transit Bus Services:
Call (631) 852-5200 for schedules, rates, and routes for commercial bus service between campus and off-campus locations.

Long Island Rail Road: The LIRR's Port Jefferson line has a stop on campus. Call (631) 231-LIRR for schedules and rates or check online. SBU bus service is scheduled to closely adhere to the LIRR arrival and departure times, picking up and dropping off passengers at the North P lot bus stop (campus side of the station).

Ferry: Connecticut car ferries run from Bridgeport to Port Jefferson. Call (631) 473-0286 for information or visit www.bpjferry.com for schedules and rates.
