For all new students, Experience Stony Brook starts Friday, August 23 with move-in day. Required programming for all students begins on Saturday, August 24 with Student Sign-in, where you will receive your SuccessBook (the all-in-one planner and guide to success at Stony Brook) and your Experience Stony Brook schedule. New commuter students will receive their ID cards at Sign-In. New resident students must bring their ID cards with them in order to Sign-In. Immediately following Sign-In, students will attend the New Student Convocation. Throughout the weekend you will be required to attend additional events based on your Undergraduate College. See your ESB Booklet schedule for details. Have your ID Card with you at all times.

Taking Care of University Business
Of course, we have made time for you to take care of business before you are consumed with classes. Upon arrival, you’ll be able to take care of last-minute changes to your course registration, make payments, have questions about financial aid and student employment answered, buy books, and find out about parking. If you need help with your schedule or just some good advice, visit the Academic Advising Center in the Melville Library. Throughout Opening Week, Student Services offices will be open Wednesday and Thursday from 8:30 am until 5:00 pm, and Friday from 8:30 am until 4:00 pm. All Student Services offices are open until 7:00 pm on Tuesdays, and many services, including the University Bookstore, the Seawolf MarketPlace, and Parking Services, have extended hours throughout the first week of classes.
