How to Wire Transfer Securities to the Stony Brook Foundation Through Depository Trust Company (DTC)
Please notify the Advancement Office advising of the name of the security, and number of shares for the stock gift.

A gift letter indicating the number of shares and name(s) of each company whose stock is being donated will be sent to you for your signature along with a return envelope to the Stony Brook Foundation.
The Advancement Office will notify you at the conclusion of the transaction.
Donors of public-traded securities, gifted outright, are entitled to a federal tax charitable deduction equal to the average of the high and low stock values on the date of the gift. Stock which is closely held, or not traded on the stock exchanges, will require an appraisal to determine value.
