peopleIn the 2006-2007 fiscal year alone, the University Hospital Auxiliary helped to raise $245,000 for patient care, state-of-the-art medical equipment, and health education and outreach programs at the Medical Center.

The Auxiliary's diverse past and in-progress initiatives include funding for the Vial of Life Program, which helps patients convey medical information in emergencies; the Child Life Program, which helps to normalize the health care experience and reduce stress for pediatric patients and their families; the HOPE Program, which fosters the development of health care professionals from underserved high schools; and contributions for ambulances, mammography equipment, defibrillators, the Medline CD-ROM network, and more.

The exemplary efforts of the devoted Auxiliansare integral to strengthening SMUMC's community, and their work helps ensure that dedicated men and women can give of their time and talent for those in need.
